From Daily Mail Online, August 15, 2014:
Kanye West wants to collaborate with Sir Paul McCartney on his upcoming album.
The Yeezus rapper, who has reportedly become very good friends with the former Beatles lead singer has approached him as he puts the finishing touches to his latest material.
And it may surprise some fans that 72-year-old Paul has a big appreciation for rap. The Live And Let Die singer revealed in a Twitter Q&A in October last year that his most recent album purchases were Kanye and Jay-Z.
And earlier this week, Kanye was backstage as the legendary crooner played a show in LA at the Dodgers Stadium.
A source told the Sun newspaper: ‘Kanye and Paul have known each other for a long time but have become more friendly recently. There’s every chance they’ll head into the studio together.’
The source added: ‘Kanye really respects music legends and is still putting the finishing touches to his new album.
‘He has been tapping Macca up for a while about working together.’
Kanye, 37, who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian West, has already started meeting up with the Can’t Buy Me Love singer to work on new material.
However, the superstar pair are keen to keep the details of their collaboration a secret and Kanye is known for revealing his team-up projects at the very last minute.
Paul also expressed interest in collaborating with a rapper last year. Discussing his track Appreciate, he revealed he had ‘resisted the temptation to get a rapper in,’ but added Kanye and Jay-Z would be first in the running of potential collaborators. […]
From Page Six, August 18, 2014:
Kanye West has secretly been recording tracks with Sir Paul McCartney, sources exclusively tell Page Six.
The rapper and the former Beatle have quietly been collaborating on a number of tracks that could develop into an album, we’re told.
One song, tentatively titled “Piss on My Grave,” is sparking some chatter.
West’s wife Kim Kardashian has been heard telling friends she was a little surprised they chose such a provocative name.
Kanye, whose rep declined to comment, was also present at McCartney’s show at LA’s Dodger Stadium last week.
The legend had previously revealed he would be interested in collaborating with a rapper such as Kanye or Jay Z.
