Paul McCartney is among the artists who donated signed or unique microphones for a charity sale, organised by the online marketplace for musical instruments Reverb, to raise money for youth music education programs which were impacted by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.
Paul McCartney donated a 50th Anniversary Paul McCartney Shure SM58 Microphone, created in 2017 for a limited edition of 300 copies. This microphone, copy number #151, was sold for €862.40.

Reverb, the largest online marketplace dedicated to buying and selling new, used, and vintage musical instruments, announced that some of the biggest names in music have come together to sell a collection of autographed and/or donated microphones to benefit the next generation of musicians. The Official One Mic Reverb Shop will launch on Giving Tuesday, December 1, with all proceeds going to ten youth music education programs that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. […]
The Official One Mic Reverb Shop shop will feature nearly 20 microphones, including a limited edition 50th Anniversary Paul McCartney Shure SM58 microphone (#151 of 300 made) donated by Paul McCartney. The remaining mics in the shop are autographed and many artists signed mics they’re known for using, including: A Telefunken M80 microphone signed by John Legend, an sE Electronics V7 microphone signed by Billie Eilish, a Shure SM7B microphone signed by The Weeknd, an Electro Voice RE20 microphone signed by Mavis Staples, and a Sennheiser MD 441-U microphone signed by the members of HAIM.
Bruno Mars, Kesha, Brandon Flowers (The Killers), Leon Bridges, Black Pumas, H.E.R., J Balvin, Alanis Morissette, and Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur) round out the list of legendary artists that autographed mics for The Official One Mic Reverb Shop in support of youth music education. According to Bridges, who signed a Shure SM7B microphone for the shop, “Youth music education is important because it gives kids a strong sense of identity. I can say that for me personally, too.” […]

Produced in limited quantities for Shure’s 50th anniversary, this collaborative mic features an image of Paul McCartney taken by Mary McCartney that was used on his album Kisses On the Bottom.
