#1 Gifted to Paul, Only 4 Coins Available to Collectors5 Kilograms of .999 Fine Silver in a stunning Proof finish with colorful resin accents. Accompanying this coin is Certificate of Authenticity #2 of only 5 with Certificate of Authenticity #1 gifted to Paul himself. It is surely one of the most desirable silver British coins produced in the 21st century.
While Paul McCartney has been universally lauded for his contributions to music and pop culture over the past seven decades, this is remarkably the very first time he has been celebrated on a coin from The Royal Mint. This is also the largest silver Proof coin produced as part of the Music Legends series. Throughout the process, The Royal Mint worked directly with Paul McCartney’s production company, MPL Communications, and with Paul himself to bring this captivating rarity to life.
The colorful reverse was designed b Deborah Osborne and Andrew Ross of the London-based design consultancy Osborne Ross, and it features Paul’s signature at the center with details from his psychedelic “Magic Piano” and iconic Höfner Violin bass surrounding. The enameling was hand-applied to the highest quality by The Royal Mint’s artisans, making each one of these pieces effectively unique.
Complementing the innovative and colorful reverse is a truly regal portrait of His Majesty King Charles III on the obverse, designed by renowned British sculptor Martin Jennings.
Precisely 8 of these silver coins were originally struck, however, three were later inspected and melted as part of the historic Trial of the Pyx ceremony. One example was then gifted to Paul McCartney himself, resulting in the net distribution of only these 4 pieces.
This historic commemorative is housed in a bespoke wooden case and is accompanied by a serialized Certificate of Authenticity that has been hand-signed by Paul. In addition, the winning bidder will receive a personal letter from Anne Jessopp, CEO of The Royal Mint. It represents an incomparable prize for a world-class collection of British coinage or music memorabilia.
