All Beatles’ yesterdays

A BEATLES retrospective set of albums is being planned by EMI, and release is scheduled for the end of April.

“It’s likely to be two sets of double albums, the tracks are currently being compiled,” EMI told the MM this week. “It will be from ‘Love Me Do’ onwards, but we are not sure yet whether to stop at the music from ‘Let It Be’ or include some of the solo material.”

Ten years ago this week the Beatles had their first number one in the MM charts with “Please Please Me.”
