DCC Classics, the American-based company which specialises in audiophile CD pressings, has issued a gold CD of Paul McCartney & Wings’ 1973 album, Red Rose Speedway (CZS 1091). The disc is aimed primarily at the American market, and contains the same four bonus tracks as the mid-price edition in EMI’s Paul McCartney Collection series (which wasn’t available in the U.S.): “C Moon”, ‘Hi, Hi, Hi”, “The Mess” and “l Lie Around”.
The CD is coated in 24-karat gold for optimum sound quality, and comes packaged in a jewel case with a unique ‘CD 2001’ pop-up tray. The booklet is a high-quality reproduction of the original album sleeve, complete with the “We love you Stevie Wonder” Braille message, plus illustrations of the original labels from the U.S. LP and spin-off single releases.
