Rex Morris was a session musician, who played tenor saxophone to The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love“, trombone to “Revolution 1” and saxophone to “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” and “Honey Pie.”

His contribution to “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” recorded on July 5, 1968, was omitted from the White Album’s released version, as Paul McCartney decided to remake the song. The version featuring his performance was eventually released on “Anthology 3” in 1996.

Rex Morris was invited back on July 11 to re-record his part, and this version was included in the White Album’s final release.
