He has worked as a solo electronic musician and as a remixer for bands and singers such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Bloc Party, and Nero. Sebastian Akchoté came to work with Paul McCartney, as producer of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s 2017 album, “Rest“. Paul McCartney had written the song “Songbird In A Cage” for her, and joined the recording sessions in 2016.

I didn’t want to lose this track [Songbird In A Cage], because the first version was cool. But something was not going with the other tracks. So I don’t know, I worked a lot on the pitch and the track, and a lot of things happened on this track, and I decided to send it to Paul McCartney. I was kind of scared. I thought he would say like “I don’t seem to recognize this”. So… He certainly said, yeah. And he came to the studio.
