6th April 1963 was not the only time The Beatles played at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. They came again on 19th October 1963 when they were supported by The Deltones and local group Derrick And The Falcons.

My name is Tony Walker. I was the the lead singer with The Deltones, at the time , one of the support bands ("groups" as we were called then.) My "stage name", was Tony Lane. I had just turned 17 the week before! I remember hearing , "Love Me Do", for the first time, just weeks before the Buxton gig. Musically it was life changing for me. I remember trying to be clever and saying to the audience I'd just had a chat with..."P".....I was going to say "Paul", but the "P", was as far as I got, the place just erupted....for next 25 minutes but we were completely drowned out with screaming and shouting and sheer excitement which carried on for rest of the night. What a night!
