I worked this show both nights working as a local assistant to the McCartney's personal photographer. Spend both nights before each concert following Paul and Linda through a series of interviews and reception lines deep in the lower parts of the Palace of Auburn Hills. Ate a buffet dinner with the band both nights - cool folks.
The first two songs of the show were setup to allow the local media to record and photograph in the area between the first row and the stage. After the first 2 songs the media were cleared out and it was just the photographer, myself and a couple of security people directly in front of the stage. My job was to load the cameras and keep the film organized and the lenses ready to swap out.
After the show I drove the film to a local lab I contracted to work late and process the film and make proof sheets for delivery to the McCartney's hotel the next morning. The weather was awful and the roads were slick after the show. I still have my back stage passes. Great experience.
