What immediately comes to mind is Zocalo […] Then there’s the Colosseum – just being inside it the night before we did the big show for the people of Rome was mind blowing in a completely different way. You’re imagining Christians being fed to the lions, and here it is: you’re in the exact location where that happened. All these things create their own little excitements.

From Bill Bernstein (@billbernstein) • Instagram photos and videos – I took this photo on May 10, 2003 of Paul on the flight to a gig in Rome at The Colosseum during a period when I was his personal photographer. He used to sneak around with his old Nikon once in a while and fire off some personal snaps. This is the moment when he caught me trying to get a good candid shot of him with his camera. I want to wish Paul a very Happy Birthday today. Born June 18, 1942. Seventy-eight years young. I am sure he is biting at the bit right now wanting to get out there with his band and start gigging again, which I am sure he will. In any event, Happy Birthday Paul and many, many more. This photo was from the book we did called “Each One Believing” in 2005.
