From PaulMcCartney.com, August 13, 2024:
Paul will bring back his acclaimed Got Back Tour back to Costa Rica this November!
Fulfilling his promise to return to Costa Rica at his last show here in 2014 – to the delight of fans – Paul will return to Costa Rica in 2024 for a show in San Jose with his Got Back tour – which launched in the United States in 2022.
With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’, ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.
This date will see Paul return for his first live performance in San José in ten years. He will be performing at Estadio Nacional for the second time.
Paul launched his Got Back tour in 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing what the British Times newspaper described as the “best gig ever” with his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022. In 2023 Paul performed 18 shows as the Got Back tour rocked through Australia, Mexico and Brazil.
We still talk about what a special night we had on our last visit to Costa Rica. We know this trip is going to be incredible. Come on down guys, we want to see you and we want to party with you. Let’s share some more great experiences together!

From Tico Times, October 26, 2024:
Paul McCartney, former member of The Beatles, will perform live in Costa Rica on November 5, 2024, as part of his highly anticipated Got Back tour. McCartney fans can look forward to his first Costa Rican concert in nearly a decade, following his unforgettable 2014 show. Before the concert, the music legend will take time to explore the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
The legendary musician will arrive in Costa Rica a few days prior to his concert on a private flight. While the destinations McCartney plans to visit remain undisclosed, concert producers have confirmed that he is eager to experience the country’s natural wonders, including its beaches and volcanoes.
McCartney first performed in Costa Rica in 2014, and according to concert producers, he has been in love with the country ever since. This year, he plans to enjoy a brief holiday exploring the country’s most beautiful landmarks before taking the stage for his Got Back tour concert.
“We are arranging a tour of Costa Rica’s interior, showing Paul some of the most stunning sights the country has to offer. He’ll fall even more in love with Costa Rica than he did during his first visit,” said Andrés Guanipa, director of Move Concerts Costa Rica.
Costa Rica, es muy chiva estar aquí nuevamente. Fue una noche inolvidable. ¡Pura vida, mae!

From Tico Times, November 5, 2024:
Thousands of fans have been lining up for hours outside Costa Rica’s National Stadium to see Paul McCartney’s historic concert. Some have even traveled from several countries to watch their idol’s performance. The legendary former Beatle has drawn fans from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua to Costa Rica to enjoy this long-awaited concert. The visitors were welcomed by The Beatles Fan Club in Costa Rica, founded in 1995.
A Nicaraguan fan has been planning his trip since he learned the singer would return to Costa Rica. “It was expensive. I almost spent all my Christmas bonus to see him because I don’t know if this will be the last time I’ll see McCartney. Fulfilling this dream of attending a soundcheck is something special,” he said.
This fan has attended several of Paul’s concerts in countries such as Spain, Mexico, and the United States. On this occasion, he will have the chance to be at the exclusive meet-and-greet and soundcheck held by the artist.
“I came to see him here 10 years ago, and now I’m back with high expectations. The soundcheck will include songs that won’t be in the main concert, which makes it even more exciting. I will bring a special gift: three stuffed animals of rabbits playing drums, inspired by a phrase Paul often says in Spanish, ‘tres conejos en un árbol tocando el tambor’ (three rabbits in a tree playing the drum). Let’s see if he likes it,” he said.
Another fan arrived from El Salvador, sharing his excitement at being able to see the artist. He believes this is McCartney’s last world tour and may be one of his final chances to see him live. Costa Rican fans have also expressed their excitement over the concert.
“Paul’s visit to Costa Rica is the closing of a cycle for those of us who have followed his music since forever. He is already 86 years old, and we know this will probably be his last big world tour since he’s been on it for two years. This is our way of thanking him for accompanying us musically for so many years,” said Armando Castillo, one of the founders of the Beatles Fan Club in Costa Rica. […]
From La Nación, November 5, 2024:
Paul McCartney is undoubtedly a living legend; He is part of the history of world music and seeing him in concert is a privilege. Listening to their greatest hits is a delight for music lovers; and this was confirmed by those who enjoyed with the Briton on the night of November 5, at the concert that the artist offered in Costa Rica.
For more than two hours, Sir Paul, the Beatle, the partner of John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison, pleased the thousands of fans who gathered to see him at the National Stadium, in La Sabana. The audience also enjoyed listening to the entire venue sing along to the greatest hits of the Big Four of Liverpool, the sweet songs of Wings and the pieces that, with so much love, he has published in his facet as a soloist.
To see him play for the second time in our country is, without a doubt, to be part of the history of art. In this small piece of land, we witnessed the talent of one of the greatest artists of all time.
During the afternoon, the rain threatened to water down the rock party, but in the end it was not like that. In the presence of a star like McCartney, the clouds continued on their way, and minutes before the musician took the stage the sky cleared.
And, well, when the time came for Sir Paul to take the stage, madness was unleashed in the sports venue, which became a kind of time tunnel when he performed A Hard Day’s Night. With energy, but maintaining that sober British style, Paul reunited with his Costa Rican fans after 10 years since that first time, when he also played at La Sabana.
“Hello, Costa Rica! Pura vida, mae. It’s very tuanis to be here again,” said the English gentleman in perfect Spanish, and his loyal audience applauded him enthusiastically. After the greeting, Paul performed Letting Go, by Wings, and, as a special surprise —one of several that would be in the concert—, his horn section (saxophone, trumpet and trombone) appeared in the middle of the west stands of the stadium, while the rest of the musicians remained on the stage. A great detail!, since this piece has the band’s brass as the main protagonist.
With evident good humor and while holding his bass with respect, McCartney said: “Tonight I’m going to try to speak a little bit of Spanish… but mostly in English”. […]
