Empty Hand

• For Paul McCartney • Directed by David Litchfield

Geoff Britton was Wings’ drummer from August 1974 to January 1975. Aside drumming, he was practising karate and, as a member of the British Amateur Karate Association team, he beat some Japanese karateka, the home country of the sport. This story was turned into a documentary, “Empty Hand”, produced by Paul McCartney’s company, McCartney Productions.

The documentary was directed by David Litchfield, who also directed the documentary “One Hand Clapping”. When released in 1977, Paul McCartney was mentioned in the credits as producer and contributor of abstract percussion music.
