Other songs by Jerry Lee Lewis

“Fools Like Me” is a song by Jerry Lee Lewis, released as a single in 1958 with “High School Confidential” as the B-side. The song was written by Jack Clement and Murphy “Pee Wee” Maddox.

According to Mark Lewisohn in “The Complete Beatles Chronicle“, The Beatles performed “Fools Like Me” regularly between 1960 and 1962, with John Lennon on lead vocals. However, no known recordings from that period exist.

On January 6, 1969, during the “Get Back” sessions, they performed a loose, impromptu cover of “Fools Like Me.” They revisited the song briefly two days later, on January 8.

Paul McCartney reportedly recorded “Fools Like Me” during the sessions for his 1999 covers album, “Run Devil Run.” However, no recording of this performance has ever surfaced, either officially or on bootlegs.
