“Gone, Gone, Gone” is a rockabilly song written and recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955. Released as the B-side to “Let the Jukebox Keep On Playing” on Sun Records, it showcases Perkins’ signature blend of country, blues, and early rock ‘n’ roll that helped define the rockabilly genre.
According to Mark Lewisohn in “The Complete Beatles Chronicle“, The Beatles performed “Gone, Gone, Gone” regularly between 1960 and 1962. However, no known recordings from that period exist.
On January 7, 1969, during the “Get Back” sessions, The Beatles played a version of “Gone, Gone, Gone,” led by John Lennon.
