Love Come Tumbling Down” is a song written and recorded in 1987 during the sessions with producer Phil Ramone. It was released 10 years after, as the B-Side of the “Beautiful Night” single.

What Paul had was sometimes a mostly unfinished [song] or snippets of songs that he was working on, and we’d sit and listen to melodies that were complete without full lyrics. “Love Come Tumbling Down” was one of those songs that he played for me. I heard it and I said, “Boy that sure sounds like one of those songs you want to develop.” You know, when you’re listening to songs he’s playing, new, or Linda would remember a cassette that had a half-finished or unfinished melody that he was working on maybe three or four months ago when they were someplace on holiday.

Love Come Tumbling Down” was included in the 2020 reissue of “Flaming Pie” but was not remastered.

Lyrics

I can't believe it,

Somthing happened to me not so long ago.

I know it isn't something i dreamed about,

It's real, so real.

When she looks into his eyes i feel

Love come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down,

And it isn't gonna stop

'til i get to the bottom of this whole affair.

I saw the look she gave,

It's one of those things you don't wanna talk about.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down.

So let's forget it,

I know it isn't something to brag about,

It's real, so real.

When she looks into his eyes i feel

Love come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down,

And it isn't gonna stop

'til i get down to the bottom of this whole affair.

I saw the look she gave,

It's one of those things you don't wanna talk about.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down.

It's real, so real.

When she looks into his eyes i feel

Love come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down,

And it isn't gonna stop

'til i get down to the bottom of this whole affair.

Ooh-ooh -

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down.

Love come tumbling down, come tumbling down,

Love come tumbling down.

Love.

I hope this helps, this is what I hear.

The lyric Paul sings is...

First bridge:

I saw the look she gave,

"They Must Think I Just Got To Town"

It's one of those things you don't wanna talk about

Second Bridge:

I saw the look she gave,

"They Must Think I Don't Get Around"

It's one of those things you don't wanna talk about

Peace and Love,

Dean
