From Wide Prairie liner notes:

When we first met, I showed Linda some basic rudiments of keyboard playing and songwriting. She soon developed her abilities and this fine song not only shows her melodic skills but her strong sense of the value of love. The pedal steel guitar was played by Lloyd Green – one of Nashville’s finest.

Lyrics

Far away, a distant love affair

Grew into something that was gentle and sentimental

And now I know that love has found full glory

Closer now, your love has warmed a heart

That could have frozen in these cold days

Where love is laughed at

Until You came to show me love's full glory

First of all my sadness

Warmed in the sunshine

When you came to show me that love will never die

Now I'm not so lonely

You are here beside me

Giving me the confidence that you alone can show

Take me home

Now at last I found you

You are here beside me

Sharing in the happiness that you alone can give

Now I'm not so lonely

You are here beside me

Giving me the confidence that you alone can show

Take me home

Far away, a distant love affair

Grew into something that was gentle and sentimental

And now I know that love has found full glory

Closer now, your love has warmed a heart

That could have frozen in these cold days

Where love is laughed at...
